Mario A. Posillico
Chariman of the Board
Mario A. Posillico, Chief Executive Officer of Posillico, Inc., one of the largest heavy construction contractors on Long Island.
Mr. Posillico graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1952, Lehigh University in 1956 and the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California in 1958. He served three years in the U.S. Navy as a meteorology officer stationed in Guam. After an honorably discharge he joined J.D. Posillico in June 1960.
Mario and the Posillico Company have been extremely involved in the Long Island community for the past 60 years. In addition to his work with numerous charitable organizations on Long Island, Mario has been honored as:
- "Man Of The Year" - Suffolk County Cerebral Palsy (1970)
- Chairman of the Suffolk County Cancer Society (1973)
- S.I.E.F. Brotherhood Award (1974)
- "Man of the Year" - American Cancer Society (1988)
- "Man of the Year" - St. Vincent De Paul Society (1994)
Throughout his business career, Mario has given much of his time to help improve the heavy construction industry and the local economy. He became active with the NSCA in the early sixties and served as Vice President of the Association for nine years with the President, Milton Hendrickson. Together they built the NSCA from just 16 members to over 120 by 1980. He also served as NSCA President himself from 1976-1979. Adding to his long profile, he even served 9 years as Public Relations Chairman and 3 years as Chairman of the Labor Committee.
A golf enthusiast, enjoying a low handicap, Mario has been a member of the Huntington Crescent Club for 30 years. He served 6 years on the Board of Trustees as "Greens and Grounds" Chairman, providing the grounds with a needed "face lift" that improved the golf course greatly.
